Importance of Light Weight Wool in a Cold Weather Layering System.

During this past season Adam got to work with, in his words, “a really sweet company, WoolPRO” as a Brand Ambassador (BA). He had the chance to test out some of our products as part of his layering system. He shared with us his thoughts about the Ultralight Juno.

Juno Ultralight Layering Review

“My Juno ultralight shirt is by far the best athletic shirt that I own. It’s incredibly light (4.5oz!) and perfect for a long backpacking trip. The one that I own is black, and initially I was concerned about how hot it might be in the blazing Arizona summer sun, but this shirt pleasantly surprised me!

Not only did it vent extremely well, but when I did inevitably sweat, the wool wicked it away effortlessly and never became uncomfortable like many shirts do.

While I was working in Tucson, AZ I enjoyed running early in the mornings and playing weekly Ultimate in addition to hiking with my Juno. No matter if it was a cool early morning run, a blazing hot midday hike, or a rainy game of ultimate, the Juno performed fantastically. The WoolPRO Juno perfectly matches the demands of ultralight cool clothing, with the advantage of a wool layer. It is a great three season athletic shirt by itself, or when combined with additional quality gear (such as the WoolPRO Helios, Skylark or Scout) is an important part of my cold weather layering system.”

Who is Adam?

I am a backpacker, and outdoor enthusiast. I love being in the wilderness, and sharing that with others. I am also a student, and at my university I am very involved with the Outdoor Adventures Program (both on staff and a guide). I lead large groups of students out on multi-day backpacking and other outdoor trips, and share the outdoors with them. I was prompted to become a BA after learning that it would not only be a way to get to try out some awesome new gear, but to be able to share the sweet discount with all of my friends and coworkers in the outdoor community along with all of our participants so that they can get in on it too!
