Wool Base Layer in 2 Styles
Great as a stand-alone shirt or a soft, breathable base layer under an insulated shell, each of these WoolPRO tops is made entirely from 18.5-micron, 195-gram merino wool. The Agena features a high crew neck to keep out drafts, while the Scout has a quarter-zip collar for temperature regulation. On both, the athletic fit minimizes bulk, side panels replace traditional seams to eliminate chafing, and a droptail hem ensures you’re exactly as covered or tucked-in as you’d like to be. Finally, raglan sleeves provide comfort while carrying a light pack or hydration system.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice between the Agena crew-neck top and the Scout quarter-zip top (+$10). Both styles are available in Anthracite and Heather Gray in men’s S – XL, and in Anthracite and Dark Ruby in women’s XS – XL. You can also add a Vega/Astrobee Beanie in Dark Ruby (+ $14); one size fits all.
Made from the same 18.5-micron, 195-gram merino wool as WoolPRO’s shirts, this comfy beanie is small enough to fit in your pocket and ideal for keeping your head warm when the weather cools off. It fits great, looks great, and resists odor like a champ—what more could you ask for?
The Merino Difference
Merino wool keeps you warm in cold weather and cool in warm weather. Along with offering extra UV protection, it prevents overheating and clamminess by absorbing and releasing vapor. Plus, it’s naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant, so you can stretch an extra day (or two) out of your top when needed.
Based in Fall River, Massachusetts, WoolPRO has well-established roots in the wool industry. For years, the company has custom-built the most technical, highest-quality production sewing machines for the best clothing brands out there. Now, they’re bringing that expertise to the world of apparel, manufacturing their own products using their proprietary sewing machines in the hopes of making merino wool fabrics softer, lighter, and more stable.
