Hey everybody, our third BA spotlight is on Tim H, aka PBRTim!
A Minnesotan, Tim enjoys hobbies including, most notably, bird hunting and running. He competes as part of Team Fetch in the NATHA bird dog series. That series’ season runs from Dec – April, so he loves his baselayers! One tournament during the season featured -11 deg F for a high, so staying warm is the name of the game for Tim. Since he enjoys running, he appreciates good wool throughout every season, too.
BUY WOOLPRO MEN’S GEAR
Tim’s a Scout and Parallax kind of guy for his tournament season, though he owns a Juno for the warmer days 🙂 He reviewed the Scout and Parallax on Reddit for us:
“I’ve recently been able to get in a couple of runs wearing The Scout from WoolPRO. This is my first piece of 100% Merino gear and I’ve been impressed. I’m 5’8” and 180lbs and I ordered a large. The fit has been athletic, but not constrictive. During recent runs, I’ve been wearing as a baselayer and I haven’t had any issues with chafing or irritation. Unlike some 1/4 zips, the zipper edges of the Scout have not bothered my neck at all when fully zipped.
Temperatures when running have been between 25 and 35 deg F. Layered with a light poly outer layer, the Scout has kept me warm, although one windy day a windproof layer would have helped. The Scout would look good worn casually with jeans too. I’m planning on getting a lot of wear out of this item! Check out the website for a full catalog. I’ve also bought the WoolPro socks. The medium size fits a men’s 10.5 well and is tall enough to work with 8″ boots. The socks have been awesome so far!”
Until the next BA Spotlight, happy adventures!
